Sam Al-Schamma

Partner – Technology & Innovation


  • Sam Al-Schamma is TCA’s partner in technology and innovation. He was an industry veteran with extensive experience in the Middle East, Europe and the United States. Sam and his team were chartered to work with the education ecosystem across Asia to deliver world class solutions that address the educational sector’s technology needs and challenges.
  • With over two decades at Intel prior to this role, Sam was formerly the Regional General Manager for Intel in the Middle East and North Africa. In his capacity as the head of Intel’s business in the Arab World, Sam successfully led Intel to become the catalyst for growth in the region, where the industry saw PC adoption grow threefold in less than five years.
  • Additionally, under his leadership Intel launched and evolved the Intel Digital Transformation Initiative for the Middle East, a multi-year program focused on building human capacity in the Arab World. Prior to his move to Singapore in early 2013, Sam also successfully led the launch of Intel’s first smartphone in Africa.
  • In 2011 Sam was selected as one of the top five leading ICT executives by Arabian Computer News Magazine and was a regional board member of INJAZ Al-Arab.
  • Sam joined Intel in 1990 in the U.S. as a Senior Network Software Engineer after which he headed the Pentium® Processor Compatibility Group. In 2000 he moved to Germany as the Director of the EMEA Software Enabling Program, a post he occupied until his move to the Middle East in 2004. He holds a Dual Executive MBA from INSEAD and Tsinghua University 2013, a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, 1990 and, a BS Honours in Computer Science from King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, 1987.
